I'm going to try to block out the whole 'flash mob' thing. Or rather I was until Noah presented me with a copy of the show's footage this morning. I threatened to smash his Valentine's day present from me. But as he's constantly playing with it and I can't get it away from him, I'll just say those muscles are going to be photoshopped on when the movie comes because he doesn't actually look like that.

Also, can someone tell me why I go shopping for clothes to wear while I'm going to be shopping for clothes? It seems perilously close to insanity to me.

So I'm alright with my ever-increasing levels of Americanization. Lovely country. Lovely people. Fantastic shopping. But you can take your weather and bin it. After the wedding I'm planning on putting on a few stone just so I don't have to worry that I will not survive the winters here.

I think Delilah saw the ring today but she didn't say anything. Noah said not to wear it outside the house, technically I haven't been. I'm wearing a long chain under my clothes that might just have a ring on it. That doesn't count as wearing it, right? Oh who am I kidding?

Bollocks. It's annoying to finally have something interesting to tell the press but I can't. I really do need to check if his eyebrows are magic, they have to be for me to agree to keeping it quiet.

I love Stephen Fry, sadly we didn't run into him in London. At least Noah had a good time. Anyway, it's great to be back in Portage and back to work. Who knew American television could be so fun? You work so hard here and for hours we couldn't dream of back in the UK, but I am having a marvelous time.

So last night Noah and I went on the Eye for their wine and sunset hour. We get the pod to ourselves of course but beforehand he was talking to everyone with his Dick Van Dyke accent. I suppose it's a good thing that we live in the States instead of here, because he is having far too much fun playing the foreigner.

He has learned to say brilliant with the proper accent, however. It's adorable how his eyes light up when he knows he's said it right.

My 'merkin' will be out of town until next week, if he's not lucky enough to get back sooner, which means it's just me and the dog. He's a sweetheart, but he's still a dog. Anyone up for joining me for a night out?

I just discovered that they brought 'Who Do You Think You Are' over here which is lovely. I was tempted to do it back home before I came over here, but now that hiatus is coming and Noah will be busy doing his movie I might fly back and 'give it a go'. I know papa's line has been actors for a very long time but mum's is a bit of a mystery so that might be interesting.

I think I might have a new American agent. Think is the optimum word there as Noah's father was quite charming but I can't quite remember all he said. He tried to match me drink for drink as the night wore on and their wine was lovely so I could hardly turn down a refill. And his mother, aside from not approving of my slightly conservative dress and offering to show me some of her designs, was sweet. She even showed me a few of Noah's baby and early modeling pictures of which she lent me one or two.

They're a sweet family. The like me because my accent is 'too cute' and I 'know how to drink'. I won't complain. But I could do with a little less of Noah trying to steal those pictures from me.

Thanksgiving is still odd, sorry Americans.

Thank goodness I started feeling better otherwise the trip to New York would be such a pain. But I'm 100% over my cold and Noah stayed healthy the whole time, lucky little merkin.

So someone tell me what is the deal with the massive balloons on Thanksgiving?

I don't think this would work for me.

I have finally finished the reception room and Noah has stopped complaining, at least out loud.

Someone sent me this link as apparently it is popular to make music videos out of BBC dramas. I love Florence + The Machine as well so I could not help myself but to share it here.



Side note: If you do accept a period role, make sure you can handle the shoes and the required action. I broke my ankle three times during filming.

And, of course, that picture of our kiss ended up in the tabloids. Luckily snogging isn't that big of a deal anymore, but it seems it is getting largely ignored here in the States thanks to the madness of some reality telly people. My mother called to tell me that it is a bigger story back home as this is the first time I have been spotted in public with another man since the divorce, to which I can only shrug and let my manager handle the papers.

It seems fine on set though, perhaps a few extra looks. Traded a smile and a wink or two with Noah on Monday but we haven't discussed our amazing night and morning together the whole thing yet.

Apparently my fansite has been getting a surge of hits from Americans trying to find out who is the girl who is snogging the bloke who played that autistic kid, so that is always a plus.

I am happy to be here in Portage, I truly am. I do not have to watch Nick Clegg disappear even further up Cameron's arse from over kissing when it comes to the state of the economy. But a hotel without a mini-bar? I have been all over the world and I have never seen such a thing before.

Does anyone know of a decent club or pub in this town?
